How to root Oukitel K8

The Oukitel K8 launched in 2018 with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The midranger sports a Mediatek MT6750T (an SoC that has been utilized on so many devices by Oukitel including Oukitel K8000, K6000 Plus just to name a few).
Other key specs include:

  • 6.0" 2.5D AUO LCD display with 18:9 FHD+ (1080p x 2160p)
  • 5000mAh non-removable battery
  • 4+64GB Memory configuration
  • Android 8.0 Oreo
  • MT6750T SoC
  • Dual 13+5MP rear cameras
  • 5MP front camera
  • Notification LED (RGB)
  • Metallic frame

IMPORTANT: Backup your internal storage else where as this procedure is going to wipe your entire phone storage.

To root your device, you'll need
  1. A PC with Mediatek driver and VCOM driver properly installed.
  2. An external storage (SD Card or USB flash)

Download and save the Magisk zip into your external storage,
Download the attached TWRP zip file,
Extract it into any folder,
Flash using SP Flashtool.
Install the latest stable Magisk via TWRP

NOTE: After flashing TWRP, you must root with Magisk, else you'll end up with boot loop.

You can use your phone without decryption but TWRP won’t be able to access your internal storage.
Hence, you must decrypt your device before TWRP can gain access to your storage.
